As an active subwoofer, the AYERS Sub brings out the very lowest octaves down to 22 Hz: musically and precisely. On the one hand, because it works with a closed cabinet concept. On the other hand, due to the two high-performance woofers positioned back-to-back. Their motion impulses cancel each other out. The 280 watt Class-D subwoofer amplifier keeps both drivers on a short leash and shines with particularly low distortion values (THD+N: 0.003%).
Despite its compact cube shape, the Sub creates uncompromising depth. We have implemented a whole range of special conceptual features that ensure that only those who are in the room can enjoy this performance and not everyone else. Since subwoofers only reproduce the lowest frequencies, we opted for a closed enclosure concept that, together with the room, is less prone to droning.
This places much higher demands on the quality of the woofers. We use two 22 cm high-end woofers with a very massive drive system and a heavy aluminium membrane. Positioned back to back on the side walls of the enclosure, the movement impulses of the drivers cancel each other out. First-class performance for you and peace and quiet with your neighbours are the result, as the enclosure does not transmit any vibrations to the floor.
The versatile setting options of the amplifier module offer a freely selectable crossover frequency (24 dB/octave), a variable phase setting for perfect interaction with the satellite speakers, such as the AYERS Wall, three selectable room EQs for tonal adaptation to room, taste and area of use, as well as a filter bypass option. This allows you to have bass management in your 5.1 surround home theater system done externally by your AV receiver.
Consistently designed for dust-dry, musical bass, the AYERS Sub harmonizes as an active subwoofer with your home theater or with your stereo system. It can be combined with the small models of the old AdvancedLine, the new AYERS series and can also be used to support speakers from other manufacturers.
Our goal in the development was clearly a subwoofer that can make music. It should achieve a significant extension of the low frequency range with its dry and precise low bass radiation. But in particular, it should achieve an enhanced spatial imaging of the sound image added with the satellites. Good active subwoofers can do that.
The preamp of the subwoofer amplifier first uses the input signal to switch the amplifier on and off. If the module remains without a signal for 20 minutes, the amplifier switches to standby. 20 minutes should be enough to bridge the signal-free times of the subwoofer in films so that it is still fully there when it comes down to business. The Class-D high-performance amplifier with a system output of 2 x 140 watts drives the two 22 cm high-end woofers and has the driver precisely under control up to its cut-off limit.
We paid special attention to the steepness of the filter for setting the crossover frequency. It is an exemplary 24 dB per octave. This ensures that no frequencies from the upper, locatable spectrum creep in and that the subwoofer cannot be identified as a sound source. The variable phase setting enables a seamless transition to the satellite speakers.
With a precisely tuned low-bass equalization, you can adjust the lower cut-off frequency in three settings to suit your taste and the spatial situation. In the "Home Cinema" setting you reach the lowest cut-off frequency, in the "Flat" setting the highest efficiency of 90 dB (1W / 1m) or the highest volume.

Music is more than a pleasant background noise.
To say it in advance, in the service desert of Germany, Inklang is more than just an oasis. [...] The delivery was faster than expected. Very well packed and without any blemish. I could not help it and just put the Ayers Two and put on a record. Wow....what might that sound like when they are properly set up and played in?
Here also the consultation in the run-up to my order (Ayers Three) is to be emphasized. A question is just entered online and not a few minutes later the answer appears. You just have a great feeling how you are perceived as a potential customer, and not somewhere in a waiting loop of a call center sour...
