Our small wireless floor-standing speaker is excellently suited for any type of music style or genre. Due to its good speech intelligibility, it is also attractive for TV audio playback.
Difference from AYERS Four Wireless – What is the difference between the AYERS Three and the AYERS Four Wireless?
The differences between the AYERS Three and Four are as follows:
- The AYERS Three Wireless is a smaller floor-standing speaker compared to the Four, and due to its laterally integrated subwoofer, it is slimmer than the AYERS Four.
- The AYERS Four Wireless operates with two woofers on the front as a classic 3-way floor-standing speaker and is slightly wider compared to the AYERS Three.
- The sound of the AYERS Four Wireless is in nuances slimmer and more analytical than that of the Three.
- The AYERS Three, in turn, has a slight softness, allowing even poor recordings to sound good, and its sound is somewhat warmer and fuller than the AYERS Four.
- Due to the achievable maximum level, the AYERS Three Wireless is suitable for rooms up to approximately 25 sqm, while the Four Wireless can also be used in rooms up to 40 sqm.
Speaker Placement – What are important aspects for placing the AYERS Three Wireless?
There are only a few key aspects for placing the AYERS Three Wireless, as we designed the product to be particularly straightforward in its placement. These include:
- A recommended wall distance of 15 – 40 cm depending on the spatial conditions.
- Placement in a classic stereo triangle, which can also be narrower. This means the speakers can be closer together than the listening position is distant.
- Only a very slight toe-in of the speakers towards the listening position (approx. 5 degrees) for ideal soundstage imaging.
- You can adapt the speaker's sound profile to your placement and room using the selectable room EQs (Free, Wall, and Dynamic) on the amplifier module.
Side-Mounted Bass Driver – Is it relevant whether the integrated subwoofer of the AYERS Three floor-standing speaker faces outwards or inwards?
Yes, it is relevant, as it gives you the option to adjust the intensity of the bass reproduction:
- If the speakers are close to or in room corners, pointing the woofers inwards is sensible.
- If the speakers are freestanding to the left and right, pointing them outwards is preferred.
Wall-Near Placement – How far should the AYERS Three Wireless be from the wall?
We recommend a minimum distance of 15 cm from the wall for this floor-standing speaker. Ideal values have been found to be between 20 – 40 cm. You can easily adjust the sound profile to the placement situation using the selectable room EQs (Free, Wall, and Dynamic) on the amplifier module.
Room Size – What room size is the AYERS Three Wireless floor-standing speaker suitable for?
The AYERS Three Wireless is a small floor-standing speaker and can comfortably fill rooms up to 25 sqm.
Large Rooms – Can I also use the AYERS Three Wireless in larger rooms?
Placement in larger rooms is only possible to a limited extent due to the design-related maximum volume level. If you describe yourself as a "low-volume listener" and only listen to music at low to medium volumes, we consider rooms up to approx. 35 sqm suitable.
Subwoofer – Can I use the AYERS Three Wireless in combination with a subwoofer?
Combining the AYERS Three Wireless with a subwoofer is not advisable, as this model already has an integrated subwoofer on the side and can play down to the 20 Hz region.
Power Supply – Is it possible to operate the AYERS Three Wireless without a power connection?
No, the AYERS Three Wireless requires a 230V power connection for operation. Battery operation is not provided for these products.
Connections – What connection options are available on the small, active AYERS Three Wireless floor-standing speaker?
The AYERS Three Wireless offers a variety of connection options:
- Wireless input with wireless, digital, and lossless signal transmission in combination with the HD 10 Stream Connect.
- Wired via analog input for connecting a preamplifier with an RCA signal cable.
- Wired via optical digital input for connecting a streamer or preamplifier that has volume-controlled optical digital outputs.
- Wired via coaxial digital input for connecting a streamer or preamplifier that has volume-controlled coaxial digital outputs.
Wireless Operation – Can I also operate the AYERS Three Wireless wirelessly with other streamers?
The wireless operation of the AYERS Three is only possible with our HD 10 Stream Connect. Other preamplifiers or streaming preamplifiers can be used when connected via cable.
Wireless Operation Distance – How far can the AYERS Three Wireless be from the HD 10 Stream Connect?
With a direct line of sight between the HD 10 Stream Connect and the AYERS Three Wireless, there is a range of up to 10 meters. If the connection is interrupted by walls, this is reduced to approximately 4 meters.
Integrating the 2nd Speaker – How does the music signal reach the second speaker in digital wired operation?
If your streamer or preamplifier does not have two volume-controlled digital outputs, you can loop through the digital music signal (optical or coaxial) from the digital outputs on the amplifier module to the second speaker. Corresponding digital pass-through outputs are available for this purpose. An optical or coaxial digital cable is required.
Number of Amplifiers – Are both AYERS Three Wireless speakers equipped with an amplifier?
Yes, both speakers in a pair are active and each is equipped with two DDFA amplifiers. This means each speaker features powerful bi-amping. A system output of up to 250 watts is available.
Power On/Off – How do the power amplifiers of the AYERS Three Wireless turn on and off?
In wireless mode, the AYERS Three Wireless receives a digital on/off command from the HD 10 Stream Connect. In wired operation, the power amplifiers automatically turn on when a music signal is present and turn off when no signal is detected.
Direct Connection of Source Devices – Can I connect a turntable, TV, or CD player directly to the AYERS Three Wireless?
This is not intended. For connecting external source devices, please use the HD 10 Stream Connect, which then wirelessly transmits the music signal digitally to the AYERS Three Wireless. The HD 10 Stream Connect offers 4 analog and digital inputs, including HDMI ARC. Alternatively, you can connect a preamplifier to the AYERS Three Wireless via cable.
Bluetooth – Can I stream directly to the AYERS Three Wireless via Bluetooth?
No, this is not possible. The AYERS Three Wireless and its accompanying HD 10 Stream Connect are part of a high-res structure that operates via "network streaming." They receive their high-resolution music data directly from the internet. The music data is transmitted immediately to the HD 10 and not (as with Bluetooth) first transmitted to the mobile phone. If needed, a Bluetooth connection is available on the HD 10 Stream Connect, but it plays a qualitatively subordinate role.
Scope of Delivery – Are power cables included with the AYERS Three Wireless?
Yes, these are included as standard and can be configured in the following lengths: 0.5 m, 1.0 m, 1.8 m, 3.0 m, and 5.0 m. They can be selected in different lengths for the left and right speakers.
Delivery – Which shipping method is used for the AYERS Three Wireless?
The AYERS Three Wireless is delivered as a pair, standing on a half-pallet, via freight forwarding by our partner freight forwarder. Shipping is free within Germany.
Delivery Weight – How heavy is the AYERS Three Wireless, and can I carry it alone?
The AYERS Three Wireless has a packaged weight of approximately 24 kg. Depending on your fitness level and the distance you intend to carry the speaker, you may be able to carry it alone. However, we recommend moving the speaker with two people.
