For music lovers who prefer strong deep bass, we recommend combining the AYERS One with our AYERS Subwoofers or, alternatively, the AYERS Two Passive Plus.
Difference from AYERS Two – What is the difference between the AYERS One and the AYERS Two?
The AYERS Two differs from the AYERS One in the size of its woofer and thus in its deep bass performance and maximum volume.
The AYERS Two is to be preferred if your listening room is larger than 25 sqm and/or you are a pronounced deep bass enthusiast.
Difference from AYERS Wall – What is the difference between the AYERS One and the AYERS Wall?
The AYERS Wall differs from the AYERS One in terms of its placement.
The AYERS One, as a compact speaker, is placed on a shelf, a sideboard or lowboard, or freestanding on a speaker stand.
The AYERS Wall is designed as an on-wall speaker for direct mounting on a wall.
Due to its smaller volume, the AYERS Wall has slightly less bass output than the AYERS One.
Wireless Version – What is the difference between the passive AYERS One bookshelf speaker and the wireless version?
The wireless version of the AYERS One differs from the passive version as follows:
- The wireless version is an active speaker, equipped with 2 DDFA power amplifiers, each providing up to 250 watts of system power, so that each driver has its own amplifier.
- An external amplifier, as required with the passive version, is no longer necessary.
- The wireless version receives the music signal via a digital radio signal, known as the KleerNet standard (not Bluetooth).
- The digital music signal is transmitted without loss.
- Unlike the passive version, the distribution of low and high frequencies to the woofers and tweeters is not handled by a crossover network, but by a digital signal processor (DSP) that processes the music signal at up to 192 kHz/24 bit.
Speaker Placement – What are the placement options for the AYERS One Passive Plus?
There are various placement options for the small AYERS One Passive Plus bookshelf speaker:
- In a shelf with a minimum depth of 340 mm.
- On a sideboard with a minimum depth of 340 mm.
- Low on a lowboard with the corresponding lowboard foot.
- Freestanding on the matching speaker stand.
Laying Speakers Down – Can I lay the AYERS One Passive Plus bookshelf speaker on its side?
Horizontal placement of the AYERS One on its side is possible without restrictions.
We recommend positioning the speakers so that the tweeters always point outwards.
To protect the finish, we recommend placing felt glides underneath, but not gluing them to the enclosure.
Wall-Near Placement – Can I place the AYERS One Passive Plus compact speaker very close to a wall?
Yes, you can place the bookshelf speaker very close to the wall.
For this purpose, we have explicitly placed the bass reflex port on the front of the speaker enclosure.
This prevents booming or bass loss with close placement in a shelf and allows for very wall-near placement.
Room Size – What room size is the AYERS One Passive Plus bookshelf speaker suitable for?
The AYERS One is a small compact speaker and can comfortably fill rooms up to 25 sqm.
Large Rooms – Can I also use the AYERS One Passive Plus bookshelf speaker in large rooms?
If you want to use the AYERS One in larger rooms, we recommend adding a subwoofer, such as our AYERS Sub.
In combination with an amplifier that has active bass management, you can relieve the AYERS One of bass reproduction, as this is now handled by the subwoofer.
Consequently, the AYERS One is able to reproduce higher volumes.
This way, the AYERS One can also be used in larger rooms.
Subwoofer – Can I use the AYERS One Passive Plus bookshelf speaker in combination with a subwoofer?
You can very well combine the AYERS One with a subwoofer.
Even though the AYERS One can reproduce surprisingly deep frequencies in the 30 Hz region for its size, adding a subwoofer, like the AYERS Sub or AYERS Sub Slim, is attractive for lovers of intense deep bass.
In this context, we recommend combining it with an integrated amplifier that has active bass management.
Home Cinema – Can the AYERS One Passive Plus be part of a home cinema set?
The AYERS One can be part of a home cinema set in various positions.
Depending on the placement option, it can be used as a front or surround speaker.
For a complete home cinema set, we recommend adding the AYERS Center, the AYERS Sub or AYERS Sub Slim.
The AYERS Wall, for example, can also be used as a surround speaker.
We would be happy to advise you on your ideal combination.
"Plus" Designation – What does "Plus" mean in the name of the AYERS One Passive Plus?
Some time ago, INKLANG upgraded the passive crossovers at the sound-relevant points with audiophile film capacitors.
Since then, the models have carried the "Plus" suffix.
